Modern Family Fans Truly Cannot Stand Pam

"Modern Family" is full of chaotic good characters, but Cameron Tucker's (Eric Stonestreet) sister Pameron Jessica "Pam" Tucker (Dana Powell) is just chaotic. The moment that she moves in with Cam and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), she immediately begins unleashing a Pandora's Box worth of stressors and problems on them. From her bossy manner to her manipulations of Cam, Pam causes tension even when she isn't complaining about her no-good partner Bo (James Van Der Beek).

Unsurprisingly, "Modern Fans" still can't stand Pam's behavior — even after seeing her appear in multiple episodes. In the r/Modern_Family subreddit, one Redditor even claimed that she was the worst character that the series ever created. Of course, this launched a whole flurry of anti-Pam speech. "Bringing her back (twice) was one of the most bone-headed decisions ever," wrote u/quangtran. "What were the writers thinking? How could they think we would find her funny?" User u/ForetoldOC also wrote a rather savage comment: "She added nothing to the show other than more episodes for people to skip on rewatches."

Meanwhile, some other Redditors got into the specifics of what, exactly, makes Pam awful.

Fans can't tolerate Pam's selfishness and cruelty

In addition to ordering people around, taking things that don't belong to her, and generally acting like an entitled older sister, Pam also spends a lot of time on "Modern Family" being cruel. "She's INFURIATING," wrote u/stadiginarnia about the character. "How are you THAT disrespectful to every. single. person. around you???" Redditor u/beelovedone even claimed to dislike her so much that they believed her real name, Pameron, to be obnoxious as she was.

Yet another Redditor took particular umbrage at Pam's mistreatment of Cam and Mitchell, who went to great pains to host her whenever her life was falling apart. "The episode where she comes back from prison and not only did she take all of Mitchell's miles, on top of that she moves back in to the top floor taking part of Cam and Mitchell's income just makes me so angryyyy," they wrote.

While Pam never quite benefited from a character rehab or a redemption arc, there's at least one positive thing that fans can say about her: since the show has ended, they'll never have to see her again.
