Avengers: Infinity War Stars Read Mean Tweets On Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Contains a mild spoiler for Avengers: Infinity War

Even the Avengers have haters.

Avengers: Infinity War may have blasted box office records in its opening weekend, broken hearts with its high-stakes and surprisingly dark narrative, and become one of the biggest movies Marvel has ever released, but not everyone is impressed with the actors who helped bring the story to life. A recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, on which the movie's stars (plus one that wasn't actually in the film) took part in a special Avengers edition of Mean Tweets, proves just that.

The full segment features a ton of Marvel darlings: Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Paul Bettany (Vision), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), and Chris Evans (Captain America).

Highlights of the Marvel-centric Mean Tweets take include Benedict Cumberbatch reading a tweet that says he "always looks like he's had an allergic reaction to bad shrimp," Tom Holland recapping the burn that says he's "one of those whities who claps when the plane lands," Sebastian Stan realizing someone said he "looks like a potato," and Samuel L. Jackson learning that he "looks like a snapping turtle," a revelation courtesy of someone who was on a "comparing old men to reptiles" streak. Elsewhere in the clip, Chadwick Boseman felt the viciousness of social media trolls as well, as he read aloud, "Okay, how did the coolest, blackest dude in the galaxy end up with some whitebread-a** name like Chadwick?"

Arguably the best part of the Avengers: Infinity War Mean Tweets segment was Chris Evans reciting a cold-hearted tweet that he could barely get through without doubling over in laughter: "Perhaps Chris Evans is in truth a great actor, but he plays Captain America like he's a big, dumb hunk of s****."

Avengers: Infinity War is out in theaters now, while Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights on ABC at 11:35 PM ET.
