What Is The Song In The Wednesday Season 2 Announcement Trailer?

It's been an anxious time for "Wednesday" fans. The first season of the darkly comedic reboot of "The Addams Family" proved to be a smash success both among fans and critics (via Rotten Tomatoes). With "Wednesday" shattering several records for Netflix in terms of its popularity since its premiere in November, fans felt that a Season 2 announcement was nothing short of a guarantee. For several months, however, all on the show renewal front was silent...up until now.

Thankfully, Season 2 of "Wednesday" has finally been confirmed by Netflix, and the streaming service even provided a bite-sized trailer to go along with the announcement. There's not a lot of new material or details to go off of in the trailer, but it does supply a thumping tune that some fans might be curious to learn more about. Here's the song that the first "Wednesday" Season 2 trailer is set to.

Wednesday's calling out Bloody Mary

The song that plays in the Season 2 announcement trailer for "Wednesday" is none other than the 2011 track "Bloody Mary" by Lady Gaga. It's a fairly fitting choice for the property, considering its spooky namesake, its gothic tone and its energetic yet off-kilter sound.

Of course, some viewers may note that this version of "Bloody Mary" sounds rather different from Lady Gaga's original recording. That's because the version of the song used in the trailer is actually a sped-up remix that has amassed mainstream popularity on TikTok, with the track commonly used alongside videos of fans and celebrities replicating the Wednesday'sĀ iconic Rave'N dance themselves. Wednesday even references this fact herself in the trailer, dryly stating: "I've been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet."

It's a nice full-circle moment for "Wednesday," with a song that gained popularity among the fanbase because of the show finally getting featured in an official context. Only time will tell if Ortega's Wednesday actually becomes a Lady Gaga fan herself when Season 2 eventually premieres.
