South Park Creator Trey Parker Has Made A Career Out Of Roasting His Ex-Fiancée

"South Park" co-creator Trey Parker has made an entire career out of ridiculing anyone and everyone. The entire basis of the popular animated show is to spoof pop culture, real life, and everything in between. Ed Sheeran claims a "South Park" episode ruined his life, but George Clooney's friendship with the creators isn't strained by their jokes at his expense, proving that everyone is affected differently by the show's satirization. Another target of Parker's barbs, dating back years, has been his ex-fiancée, Liane.

Prior to the success of "South Park," Parker, along with co-creator Matt Stone, made an independent film called "Cannibal! The Musical." The 1993 film is loosely based on the real-life story of Alferd Packer, who ate several of his traveling companions during a treacherous journey from Utah to Colorado in the 1870s. The butt of a recurring joke is Liane, a horse that shares its name with Parker's former love.

Parker made Cannibal! The Musical to ridicule his ex-fiancée

According to the DVD commentary for "Cannibal! The Musical" (via Showbiz CheatSheet), "South Park" co-creator Trey Parker was engaged at one time to his high-school sweetheart, Liane. He stated in the commentary that about a month before their wedding, Liane cheated on him with an a cappella singer, and so he wrote the movie just to "ridicule" her.

There are jokes in the film in which Liane the horse leaves Packer, played by Parker, and other characters console him by saying there are plenty of other horses out there. Since Liane cheating on Parker inspired him to write "Cannibal! The Musical," and the movie eventually led to "South Park," one could assume that if he wasn't the victim of infidelity, he might not have gone on to become the success that he is.

The jokes at Liane's expense didn't end there. They carried into "South Park" as well. Eric Cartman's mom is named Liane in the long-running animated show. While Mrs. Cartman is for the most part a decent mom to Eric, she is often mocked in town for being promiscuous.
