What Is The Song In Mountain Dew's 'Let's Do' Commercial With Migos?

On November 1, 2022, Takeoff, a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, at the age of 28, according to the Los Angeles Times. Takeoff had been playing dice at a party with his uncle and fellow member of Migos, Quavo. An altercation occurred and someone opened fire, leaving Takeoff with fatal gunshot wounds and causing two other people to be hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not yet identified any suspects or reported any arrests, but Houston police Chief Troy Finner said there is no reason to believe Takeoff was involved in anything criminal at the time of the shooting.

Following his untimely and tragic death, fans may like to review projects he was involved in while alive with Migos. One of the more off-beat projects was Mountain Dew's "Let's Do" commercial with Migos from 2019, which features a song with lyrics that echo the main idea in the commercial and the brand's catchphrase, "Do the Dew."

Throughout the commercial, various people are shown practicing tasks such as skateboarding, welding, and boxing with paint-covered gloves. As people practice the tasks more times, they improve their level of perfection. The members of Migos are also shown riding tricycles, but they aren't the only celebrities featured in the clip — former UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm and Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid also make appearances in the Mountain Dew ad.

While the commercial certainly features quite a few familiar faces, you may be wondering about the title of the catchy song playing in the background.

The song in Mountain Dew's 'Let's Do' commercial is Position to Win by Migos

Although it may seem like a simple choice to decide which song goes into a commercial, song choice can easily make or break the ad's success. Some of the worst-case scenarios are that the song makes the commercial easily forgettable or that the song is so annoying that people actually hold the brand in lesser regard as a result. One of the best-case scenarios is that the song is catchy and also fits perfectly with the brand and the content, making the advertisement memorable and improving viewers' perception of the brand. From the song in Chevrolet's EVs for Everyone commercial to the song in Cadillac's Red LYRIQ commercial, these tunes are incredibly important.

The song in Mountain Dew's "Let's Do" commercial is "Position to Win" by Migos, which appears in the 2019 album of the same name.

Like the "Let's Do" commercial, "Position to Win" carries an uplifting, inspiring message. Although the clip featured in the commercial is relatively short, the rest of the song continues to develop the same theme from the commercial. Overall, the song is about taking action and getting things done, even when it takes time, practice, and commitment. The song praises ambition and hard work as qualities that will lead to achievement or winning while warning against the dangers of just sitting around watching instead of doing.

"Position to Win" is certainly a perfect song to fit with Mountain Dew's "Let's Do" commercial, and luckily, viewers can listen to the song in full on Spotify, Pandora, YouTube Music, or Apple Music.
