Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Trailer Reveals New Footage
What a marvelous day.
Two months after Marvel and Disney released the first official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, we finally have another look at the upcoming blockbuster. A new trailer dropped during the Super Bowl and you can check it out above. Although it's brief, it packs in more epic-per-second than just about anything you'll ever see.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: Civil War), the ensemble flick brings together most of the major heroes from all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they attempt to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin) from collecting all of the Infinity Stones and destroying everything in his path — and that definitely includes Earth.
It's all been leading to this (and 2019's Avengers 4), as we'll see Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and the rest of the Avengers team up with the likes of Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and the Guardians of the Galaxy. And that's just scratching the surface.
Will they all play nice? After all, the last time we saw the Avengers, they were split apart by the events of Captain America: Civil War. But if you paid attention to the first trailer, we see that Iron Man uses the phone that Cap gave him at the end of that movie to call for help. Seems like they'll put their differences aside to address the more pressing issue of potential annihilation.
Brolin previously said he was "blown away" by the script, which will put Thanos in the spotlight more than ever before. Meanwhile, Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, said Infinity War is "exactly what the fans want."
We'll find out for ourselves when the movie hits theaters on May 4.
