New Legends Of Tomorrow Promo Teases The War To Come
"There's a war coming. History needs you to be ready."
So says Arthur Darvill's Rip Hunter in the latest promo for DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The footage affirms the worst is yet to come for the heroes of the time-travel series.
Following Rip's chilling warning that opens the trailer, we see flashes of Matt Ryan's John Constantine, hear John Noble's mysterious figure Mallus make his presence known, catch a peek at Wentworth Miller's Leonard "Leo" Snart/Captain Cold, and get glimpses at what looks to be an exorcism of some sort, which could happen during the upcoming midseason premiere, entitled "Daddy Darkhest."
Take a look above.
The addition of Constantine to the series is a highly anticipated one. Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Phil Klemmer previously promised that Constantine will fit right in once he makes his official debut. "As for the character of Constantine, we knew that an alienated, chain-smoking, bisexual, world-weary demonologist would feel right at home among our Legends," he said at the time Constantine's involvement was first announced.
As for Mallus, fans have long theorized about his true identity, but fellow Legends of Tomorrow EP Marc Guggenheim once said that "the vast majority of them tend to be really wrong — really, really wrong." There stands a good chance that all speculation will be washed away soon if and when the show finally reveals more about the ominous entity.
One hero noticeably missing from the trailer is Keiynan Lonsdale's Kid Flash; the actor is locked in as a series regular for the rest of season three, so we'll undoubtedly see him on the small screen soon. Lonsdale joins Victor Garber as Martin Stein/Firestorm, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Franz Drameh as Jefferson "Jax" Jackson/Firestorm, Amy Louise Pemberton as the voice of Gideon, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen, Nick Zano as Nathaniel Heywood/Steel, and Tala Ashe as Zari Adrianna Tomaz.
Here's the synopsis for season three of Legends of Tomorrow: "After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms — a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart."
DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return for the rest of season three on Monday, February 12 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
