The X-Files Midseason Trailer Reveals A World Gone Mad
Although we've down this creepy road before, it really looks like we're getting closer to the truth on The X-Files.
In a trailer for season 11, we get a lot of footage from the next five episodes, including "The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat," which airs tonight (Jan. 24). Written and directed by Darin Morgan, the episode revolves around the Mandela Effect: a theory in which large groups of people remember an alternate history. It could all lead Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) to learn how The X-Files may have originated.
The clip also has footage from the upcoming episode that centers on Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) with guest star Haley Joel Osment, and lots of allusions to Mulder and Scully's son William.
In addition to Osment, guest stars this season include Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, and Barbara Hershey.
The series originally premiered in September 1993 and earned 16 Emmys and five Golden Globes over a nine-season run. The show returned for a six-episode revival in 2016, but it could have reached an end. Anderson has announced this will be her final one.
The X-Files airs Wednesdays on FOX.
