Tom Holland Comes To Life As Atlantis: The Lost Empire's Milo Thatch In Stunning Fan Art

Although a release date is still yet to be confirmed, Tom Holland's latest project, "The Crowded Room," will arrive soon on Apple TV+. During the "Uncharted" press tour, Holland explained that he would take a break from acting (via CinePOP). This was recently followed by an announcement on his Instagram that he'd be taking some time off social media for mental health reasons.

It makes sense, as Holland has been jumping from one blockbuster to the next, spending a lot of time suited up as Spider-Man. Aside from Netflix's "The Devil All the Time" and "Cherry," most of Holland's appearances have been as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He notably had two solo movies as the character come out relatively soon after "Avengers: Endgame" with "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (via IMDb).

Although Holland is best known for portraying Spider-Man, he still has managed to explore other opportunities. In 2020, he notably voiced the role of Ian Lightfoot alongside Chris Pratt's Barely Lightfoot in the animated feature "Onward." The movie received highly positive reviews from fans and critics alike (via Rotten Tomatoes). Many fans are imagining Holland in other animated roles — even from Disney classics that could be reimagined for live-action, like "Atlantis: The Lost Empire."

Although it performed relatively poorly at the box office in 2001 (via Box Office Mojo), many fans often consider it incredible (via Reddit). Now an artist has imagined Holland as the movie's lead character, Milo Thatch.

Tom Holland looks great as Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Concept artist Joel Torres recently revealed a digitally rendered image of Tom Holland as Milo Thatch from "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" through an Instagram post, and it's stunning. Holland fits the look well with the round glasses, blue diamond necklace, and tank top that the character sports in the animated feature. Many fans in the comments seemed to approve of Holland as the character. U/normanizer said, "100% that would work." Others like u/dewell_parrales even prefer Holland as Milo instead of his performance as Nathan Drake in "Uncharted."

However, the concept art was also met with moderate disapproval by fans who would like to see other actors given an opportunity at a live-action. U/brennanmann1 said, "No. I'm tired of him. He's in everything." U/alfredo.hidalgo even offered actor Eddie Redmayne as another option for the character if a live-action remake ever happens.

Unfortunately, there have been only rumors and speculation as far as an "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" live-action film goes. The animated feature's co-director, Kirk Wise, explained in 2021 that he's only heard online support but nothing from Disney. Co-director Gary Trousdale said Disney had no plans for it (via Newsweek). Only time will tell if that ever happens, and if Holland is to be attached, it certainly will be a few years in the future, given his break from the industry.
