What Only Hardcore Star Wars Fans Know About Chandrila From Andor Episode 4

Contains spoilers for "Andor" Episode 4

Episode 4 of "Andor" brings in new power players on both sides of the Galaxy's power struggle. The current leaders on the scoreboard receive an on-screen boost in the shape of ambitious young Imperial Security Bureau officer Dedra Meero (Denise Gough). Meanwhile, the plucky Rebel contenders receive a superstar in Senator Mon Mothma, once again played by Genevieve O'Reilly.

Mothma visits Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) under the pretense of a business interaction that's actually a cover for a far more important and secretive, Rebel-themed meeting. During their conversation, the two briefly discuss Chandrilan customs and mention the planet's rich history, before moving on to other, more pressing matters.

The fact that the characters discuss Chandrila in the first place implies that the place has a very special meaning to at least one of them. As the "Star Wars" faithful no doubt know, this is very much the case ... but only truly hardcore fans know one particular thing about Chandrila from "Andor" Episode 4.

Mon Mothma's home planet plays an important role in the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience

As the conversation between Mon Mothma and Luthen Rael implies, Chandrila is indeed Mothma's home planet. Though not quite as prominently featured in the original trilogy as Tatooine or Endor, it's also a key location in the movies, as it becomes the first seat of power of the freshly established New Republic.

However, the planet also pops up in another, arguably way more obscure situation. There's an in-universe luxury charter company called Chandrila Star Lines, which has managed to cross the vast boundaries of space, time and reality by moving from the fictional Galaxy Far, Far Away to our very real world ... well, sort of.

Chandrila Star Lines is the fictional operator of the real-world Walt Disney World attraction "Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser." The immersive Star Wars" hotel experience is probably as close as it gets to actually visiting the "Star Wars" universe — and as its fictional provider, Chandrila Star Lines no doubt holds a place in many a visiting superfan's hearts.
