Star Wars Fan Video Reimagines Darth Vader And Obi-Wan Kenobi Duel

Back in 1977, the climactic lightsaber duel between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi had audiences on the edge of their seats. But now that we've seen what CGI can do, it seems a little tame by today's standards.

That's the impetus for a new fan-made video called "Scene 38 Reimagined" which updates that final confrontation as if it was filmed in 2017. The video released is just a teaser for the final product, but it's pretty entertaining. Check it out above and watch the original scene below.

Instead of watching Vader and Obi-Wan stand right next to each other and barely break a sweat while waving their lightsabers, the updated scene shows the master and former student engaged in a frantic fight to the death. Vader mercilessly hacks at Obi-Wan, who actually has to move his feet this time around. 

The fan video already has more than a million views, so it clearly does something right. 

Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opened earlier this month and had the second-biggest opening weekend ever behind only 2015's The Force Awakens. Although fans are split on the movie, it's also poised to become the highest-grossing movie of the year.
