  • Myles has a B.A. in Film & Video from Columbia College Chicago, where he studied Directing and Acting.
  • He has been writing about the industry for over a decade, with bylines for Awards Radar, 25YL, Horror Obsessive, and The Awards Circuit.
  • He has also written and directed dozens of short films, most recently the award-winning “American Exorcist.”


Myles Hughes has been writing about the film industry since 2008, when he was still in high school. His work has been featured on The Awards Circuit, 25YearsLater (including its sister sites Film Obsessive, TV Obsessive, and Horror Obsessive), and most recently Awards Radar, as well as being quoted in Gold Derby and The Washington Post. He is also a co-host of the Awards Radar Podcast, where he discusses the latest in cinema and the awards season. In addition to writing about movies, he has also written, directed, edited, and starred in dozens of short films. His project “American Exorcist” was the winner of 13 awards at the 2020 LOL Jax Film Festival, including Best Film.


Myles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago, where he studied all aspects of filmmaking, including writing, directing, acting, and editing, as well as criticism and analysis.
