The Most Forgotten Vikings Character According To Fans

The Emmy-winning historical drama "Vikings" entertained home audiences for six spectacular seasons, and over the years, the well-crafted scripted series has introduced a vast array of memorable characters that fans know and love, with some receiving noticeably more screen time than others.

The critically acclaimed series followed the Viking warrior Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and the generations that followed as they struggled for power and fought in brutal battles, all resulting in an epic adventure over the course of 93 entries. Despite winning awards and being a big hit with viewers as well as critics, certain people still have their own opinions regarding the popular History Channel series.

It's no secret that some of the decisions taken over the years caused quite a stir with some of the people that watched the show. Certain individuals stopped following the series after Ragnar died, and others believe the death of Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) was the saddest the program had ever seen, which is really saying something on a show where characters die quite often. Certain devotees also think Torvi's (Georgia Hirst) storyline was weak, and some love to hate characters like Aslaug Sigurdsdottir (Alyssa Sutherland). But one of the series' personas seems to have been abandoned before being written off completely, and fans have deemed this unfortunate soul as the most forgotten character on "Vikings."

Fans think Bjorn's daughter Siggy deserved better

Siggy Bjornsdottir is the daughter of Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) and Þórunn (Gaia Weiss). She first appeared in Season 3, Episode 6 ("Born Again") and made a total of seven appearances on "Vikings." The few times she was featured, the poor girl was disregarded by everyone and eventually died alone, with nobody seeming to care. Some fans believe not only did her family forget about her, but the writers of the series did as well.

u/santaspam posted on Reddit that Siggy is the most forgotten character on "Vikings," simply commenting, "She deserved better." Several individuals agreed that the shield maiden princess got a raw deal, and u/moth–foot referred to Siggy's time on the series as "The most depressing character story." Some users were also frustrated that Bjorn, her father, doesn't seem to care that his daughter was uncared for before she died. u/pfudorpfudor wrote, "Seriously he didn't even ask about her when he got back."

Siggy's neglected arc could be related to the departure of the actress who played her character's mother, Þórunn. In an interview with the Express, "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst talked about how Weiss' exit wrapped up her arc. "Her story effectively ended when she left, I have never had plans to bring her back... It was a tremendously tragic story," he said. Bjorn's daughter was the one thing that remained from Þórunn's storyline connecting her to the show, and the series decided to move on from the entire ordeal leaving Siggy mostly out of the mix until her tragic demise.
