The Boys Fans Have Some Questions About Maeve's Powers

Out of the Supes featured on "The Boys," it's hard to argue that Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) isn't the toughest warrior on the Emmy-nominated series. Whether it's her knack for teamwork showcased in the final fight of Season 2 to her formidable efforts against the likes of Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), Maeve is undoubtedly one of the toughest superheroes on the small screen that has been through one wild ride so far.

Fans were understandably worried about the character going into Season 3, and things didn't go well for her when she lost her powers, thanks to Soldier Boy's ability to knock the Compound V out of a Supe. But showrunner Eric Kripke did tell TVLine that fans have not seen the last of Maeve, and it's not like she couldn't take Compound V to revitalize her powers in the same fashion Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) got her powers back. Either way, nobody should ever underestimate Queen Maeve as she has proven to be a worthy contender against some of the most powerful Supes "The Boys" has to offer; in fact, many have wondered if she could take on DC's Wonder Woman in a fight.

While it's been well established that Maeve is a fearless warrior in the Amazon series, some fans are still not sure what exactly she brings to the table in regard to her powers. It isn't fully clear for some that enjoy the show, and certain followers have attempted to get to the bottom of this ordeal.

What exactly does Queen Maeve bring to the table for The Seven?

Redditor u/smoney22 brought up the question about Maeve's powers on "The Boys," asking, "What are Maeve's superpowers exactly? I always thought she was like Black Widow or had super strength. Am I missing anything?" Several users chimed in with their thoughts, including u/TheNaiveSkeptic, who came up with, "Superhuman strength and durability, given what she does to that Armored Truck earlier in the show, just not quite on Homelander's level." u/jer487 continued that sentiment by adding, "Basically Wonder Woman but weaker in the same way Homelander is a weaker Superman and A-Train is a weaker Flash... Also can jump super high to a point where it's almost flying. Hulk also does this. In the comics she can also fly."

The general consensus seems to point to Maeve having superhuman strength, durability, and agility. Also, the Wonder Woman comparison makes more sense as she has many of the same powers as the DC hero, except for flight, which her comic book counterpart can actually do.

The well-crafted show has made several changes from the source material, and showrunner Eric Kripke talked about the need to modify things with ComingSoon.net. "Comics are a medium that are based on space and film is a medium based on time, so you just have to inherently make some differences," he told the outlet.

While Maeve may not be as powerful as she is in the comics, the Queen should still be revered as a force to be reckoned with, one who fans are most assuredly hoping to see again on "The Boys," with or without her powers.
