New Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 4 Clip Revealed

Have we finally uncovered Lotor's true desires?

During this weekend's New York Comic Con festivities, the cast and executive producers of Voltron: Legendary Defender, the series that reboots both the Beast King GoLion anime series and the Voltron franchise, unveiled a handful of new clips from the animated series' upcoming fourth season. For those who weren't in attendance at the show's panel, you can now check out one of the videos right now.

The new footage picks up where the season 3 finale left off, when it was revealed that Prince Lotor (voiced by A.J. Locascio) wants to travel across other realities in order to collect the purest and most clear quintessence, the planetary energy that can be used to power everything from vehicles to magic. As the clip shows, the impending fourth season of Voltron: Legendary Defender will show Lotor putting his plan into motion as he returns to where the chaotic war began.

Lotor and his generals trek back to the rubble-filled and totally ruined Planet Daibazaal, the place where the original rift between realities sits. By the looks of it, King Alfor's major plan to rid the galaxy of the rift by, well, destroying Daibazaal altogether, didn't work out as he intended. Now, Lotor wants to use the planet for his own gain as he pursues his ultimate goals.

From DreamWorks Animation and World Events Productions, Voltron: Legendary Defender features Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as Keith, Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) as Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus (Scream) as Pidge, Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) as Hunk, and Rhys Darby (A Series of Unfortunate Events) as Coran. Here's the official plot synopsis for the series: "Five unsuspecting teenagers, transported from Earth into the middle of a sprawling intergalactic war, become pilots for five robotic lions in the battle to protect the universe from evil. Only through the true power of teamwork can they unite to form the mighty warrior known as Voltron."

The entire fourth season of Voltron: Legendary Defender will hit Netflix on October 13.
