The Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 4 Scene Fans Thought Was Hilarious

"Better Call Saul" might be a prequel, but despite the fact that "Breaking Bad" devotees already know where a bunch of the characters will end up after the credits of the series finale roll, the show's Season 6 still manages to keep everyone on their toes. The major Nacho Varga (Michael Mando) twist in Episode 3 left fans reeling, and both Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) are falling further and further away from grace as they're ever more willing to adopt shady tactics ... and increasingly entangled in the vengeful plots of some seriously dangerous people, including Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).

That being said, "Better Call Saul" wouldn't be "Better Call Saul" if it didn't have time for some fun. After all, Jimmy's alter ego, Saul Goodman, earned his fan goodwill as a comic relief character before things got serious, and his unorthodox methods and fast-talking ways offer ample opportunities for levity. Fans have particularly enjoyed one specific, hilarious "Better Call Saul" Season 6 Episode 4 scene.

Fans love Jimmy's Howard Hamlin disguise

Poor Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian). The erstwhile senior partner at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill shows all the exterior signs of a sleazy yuppie lawyer, but on the rare occasion that someone actually bothers listening to the man, he's a surprisingly empathetic and moral dude who tries to advise and help multiple main characters well after others would've walked away. In any other show, he might be the protagonist. In "Better Call Saul" Season 6, he's the target of every other joke.

Even in the tragedy-filled Season 6, where Jimmy and Kim are painstakingly setting Howard up for what seems destined to become a career- and possibly life-breaking fall for the long-suffering lawyer, the show can't help but have a laugh at the man's expense. In a Reddit discussion about the season's Episode 4, fans were over the moon when the latest stage of the plot involved Jimmy dressing up as Howard — complete with the hairstyle, deep tan, and Mr. Hamlin's signature knit tie and collar bar.

"The Howard disguise was both effective and hilarious," u/krakatoa83 wrote. Others, like u/lesh17 and u/Beefjerky007, pointed out that the scene is a fun callback to Season 1, when Jimmy pulled off a similar Hamlin-esque look for his billboard scheme. Others still point out the fun details that make the costume extra amusing, like Jimmy's Howard-style body language and the minor blemishes in his not-so-carefully applied fake tan.

All in all, the scene is a desperately needed moment of levity after the gut punches the previous episode delivered. Howard Hamlin might not appreciate it, though.
