Who Plays Felix Long On Yellowstone?

"Yellowstone" has become, after Season 4, one of the most-watched shows on television in recent years (via Deadline). The series notably follows ranch owner John Dutton (Kevin Costner), his wranglers, and his family, as they try to protect their land in Montana from outside forces that want to either purchase it or strip it from them. Fans quickly discover that the Dutton Ranch has a sort of mob mentality in the way it protects its own and tries to keep others from taking what's theirs.

Throughout the released four seasons of "Yellowstone" thus far, we've seen John and the rest of the Dutton Ranch crew encounter plenty of problems and drama, whether it was due to John's own son Jamie (Wes Bently), Dan Jenkins (Danny Huston), a biker gang that refused to leave the land, or even a small bar fight that led Rip (Cole Hauser) and the wranglers to beat the men who caused it one by one. Needless to say, it's best not to mess with John and the Dutton Ranch, because they don't care what laws they have to bend or break to come and find you.

Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and the rest of the Broken Rock Indian Reservation know this all too well, as they have often been at odds with the Dutton Ranch during the show. However, the Duttons have family through Broken Rock in Felix Long, the grandfather of Kayce Dutton's (Luke Grimes) wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille). Here's what we know about the actor who plays Felix in "Yellowstone."

Rudy Ramos plays Felix Long on Yellowstone

Appearing in nine episodes of "Yellowstone," the character of Felix Long has often been integral in Kayce and his son Tate's (Brecken Merrill) life. Of course, being Monica's grandfather denotes some responsibility. The character is played by the actor Rudy Ramos. The now 71-year-old has been active in the entertainment industry since 1969, with his first credit on IMDb listed as a student in a crowd during the television series "Ironside," which followed Raymond Burr as the titular detective in San Francisco. In the following years, Ramos would get larger guest spots in shows like the original "Hawaii Five-O," "Knight Rider," "Hill Street Blues," and "MacGyver."

The roles fans would likely recognize Ramos from are within films, including his time as the character of Danny DeCarlo in 1976's "Helter Skelter," Teeth in 1978's "The Driver," Ignacio in 1987's "Beverly Hills Cop II" starring Eddie Murphy, and Melindez in 1988's "Colors" starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn.

In the late '90s and early 2000s, Ramos would have small parts in shows like "Murder, She Wrote," "JAG," and "George Lopez," but "Yellowstone" has become another larger role for the actor. Ramos noted in a recent interview with Southwest Ledger that being part of "Yellowstone" is "an actor's dream," explaining his enjoyment of working for creator Taylor Sheridan and alongside Kevin Costner. It will be interesting to see how Ramos' character develops during Season 5 sometime this summer. We'll keep you posted.
