Thor: Ragnarok Voted Most Anticipated Fall Movie
It was a bummer of a summer at the box office, but it won't be difficult for this fall's film lineup to make up for the many disappointing outings, with one promising blockbuster leading the way.
Thor: Ragnarok has topped Fandango's Most Anticipated Fall Movies Survey (via Entertainment Weekly), which polled more than 1,000 diehard movie fans about which pics they're looking forward to catching in the months between September and November of this year. With its rockin' trailer, splashy posters, stellar cast, and down-to-earth but supremely talented director Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok is sure to bring smiles to the theater and live up to its buzzing reputation when it's released in theaters on November 3.
Just behind the third go-around for Chris Hemsworth's Thor is Justice League, which stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg. Like Thor: Ragnarok, the star-studded superhero flick appears to be a lighter entry into the DC Extended Universe, at least based on the footage and photos we've seen thus far.
Following Justice League to round out the top five are a collection of sequels and remakes. There's Blade Runner 2049, the follow-up to one of the most revered sci-fi movies ever made that stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford; Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service; and It, director Andy Muschietti's adaptation of the Stephen King tale that's horrified audiences for decades.
Tickets for Thor: Ragnarok went on sale on Thursday, stirring up excitement for the cast of the Marvel film as well. A handful of Ragnarok stars, and a few Justice League standouts, appear on the most anticipated actor and actress lists.
The Fandango Survey categories also include the most anticipated comedy, in which A Bad Moms Christmas took the top spot, and the most anticipated family movie, in which Pixar's Coco sits at number one.
