Get Your First Look At Jeff Daniels' Netflix Series Godless
The first look at Netflix's upcoming miniseries Godless is here, and it looks amazing. The highly anticipated series comes from Logan screenwriter Scott Frank and the Ocean's trilogy mastermind Steven Soderbergh, with a whole host of high profile actors joining in for the seven episode run. While there are still a few more months to go before the series hits the streamer, Entertainment Weekly has shared the first group of images, which you can view at the bottom of this article.
The Western series, set in the 1880s, follows Jeff Daniels as Frank Griffin, an infamous outlaw terrorizing the countryside with his murderous followers as he searches for his former partner turned mortal enemy Roy Goode (Unbroken's Jack O'Connell), described as a "son-like protege who betrayed the brotherhood."
Roy, meanwhile, is hiding out at a ranch in a New Mexico mining town made up almost entirely of women. There, he meets widower Alice Fletcher (Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery), who helps him to get the town ready for an epic showdown with Frank and his men.
While the new images don't reveal much about the project, they do show that it will fully embrace its Western setting, with beautiful costumes and settings hinting that Netflix spared no expense on the elaborate project. They also tease some of the miniseries' impressive supporting cast, including Merritt Wever, Tess Frazer, Scoot McNairy, Scott Waterston, and Kayli Carter.
Godless, one of many upcoming Netflix originals you may not have realized was being made, will premiere on Nov. 22.
