The Best Time J.J. Broke Character On Criminal Minds

"Criminal Minds" is known for its extremely serious plots, shocking twists, and the occasional off-beat comedy that often involves the more eccentric characters on the hit television show. Starring Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, and Joe Mantegna, "Criminal Minds" has a varied and diverse cast with differing personalities. Aaron Hotchner (Gibson) is generally a no-nonsense officer, while the likes of Spencer Reid (Gubler) and Penelope Garcia (Vangsness) manage to be both awkward and likable at the same time.

Cook plays the role of Jennifer "J.J." Jareau in 302 episodes, only taking a step away from role when the character went on a secret mission to hunt down Osama Bin Laden (via IMDb). J.J. is an integral part of "Criminal Minds," and her dedication to her co-workers is always at the forefront of her mind and work, much like her mild obsession with Cheetos.

Despite the fact that the plots in "Criminal Minds" often deal with heinous criminal acts, the actors who have long called the show their second home often have a spot of fun during filming, and one particular moment shows Cook having an absolute blast as her character.

A blooper shows J.J. in a confused and goofy state

Having been on the air for 15 seasons and over 300 episodes, the cast of "Criminal Minds" has had plenty of time to get into behind-the-scenes shenanigans (via IMDb).

In one blooper reel exposing the aforementioned tomfoolery, a scene which features J.J. gives A.J. Cook a chance to really cut loose. She's shown in the background of a store, where somebody is on the phone and giving different names in the foreground. Cook takes this opportunity to show off her goofy side, and starts the clip by walking up with a notepad in her hands, and then gives a confused look and waves at the camera.

She then takes a step back, walks around a bit more, and continues with her confused act while at the same time showing off a big smile. She laughs, and then shrugs. Whether or not this was intentional is up for debate, because it almost looks like she either missed her queue or was entirely too early, but she certainly handled the moment in stride, and it makes for a great behind-the-scenes snippet that shows off her real personality.
