The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode Fans Think Is The Most Underrated

"The Walking Dead" has captivated audiences with its brand of zombie horror for 11 seasons now. Sure, it may not be nearly as popular as it once was, with declining ratings even into its most recent eleventh season (per Variety), but it's still performing well for a cable network show.

"The Walking Dead" tells the story of a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic zombie world that not only have to contend with the undead Walkers, but other humans. This has been the show's M.O. since the early days, and one that has mostly worked.

With over 166 episodes as of this writing, "The Walking Dead" has many highly regarded episodes that have enjoyed all kinds of critical and fan acclaim. On the other side of having a lot of episodes is the fact that some tend to slip under the radar and become underrated in the eyes of the fanbase. In fact, there's one particular Season 4 episode that viewers believe is one of the most underrated of that particular season.

Fans think Still is an underrated episode

Over on the r/TheWalkingDead subreddit, u/jodlad04 created a poll asking fans what they believed was the most underrated episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 4. With 46 votes, the 12th episode of the season, "Still," won. Fans may remember that "Still" centers around Beth (Emily Kinney) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) trying to survive after the destruction of their prison stronghold by The Governor (David Morrissey). While the episode was moderately well-received at the time, it's arguably never been in the conversation for best episode of Season 4.

"After," which served as the 9th episode of Season 4, was close behind "Still," with 35 votes. That particular episode showed the direct aftermath of the prison from the perspective of an injured Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl (Chandler Riggs). It's clear that, in the minds of some fans at least, age has been kind to these particular episodes — especially "Still." One Reddit user named u/thatguyjsmit wrote, "Look up Still's IMDB rating, it's a joke. Literally one of the best episodes of the show EVER."

At the time of its release, IGN rated the episode an 8.5 out of 10, and noted that the strength of the episode lies in the character development of both Daryl and Beth. It seems that all these years later, fans have come to agree with that assessment.
