Watch The Trailer For The Godzilla: Monster Planet Anime Movie Coming To Netflix

Godzilla is coming to Netflix and it doesn't look like he'll take too many prisoners.

Polygon Pictures released a full trailer for Godzilla: Monster Planet, the first animated movie in the franchise, that will premiere in Japan and then stream on Netflix later this year. But unless you're fluent in Japanese, you'll just have to revel in the look and action of the trailer (above).

Directed by Kōbun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, the film is set in the future, when Earth has been totally overrun by giant monsters. After an attempt at deep-space colonization fails, a small group of survivors attempt to take back the planet. Although the ship successfully returns home, the crew discover that 20,000 years have passed and Godzilla is now in control of the planet.

It's the beginning of a huge push towards anime for Netflix, which will add a dozen new series in the coming months.

Godzilla: Monster Planet will premiere in Japan on Nov. 17 and we'll let you know when Netflix reveals the official debut on the service. Until then, take a look at the poster below and everything coming to Netflix this month.
