Kevin Smith To Direct More Supergirl In Season 3
Supergirl will reunite with an old friend in the upcoming third season.
Kevin Smith announced on Twitter that he'll be back to direct at least one episode of the DC series on The CW. He previously helmed two episodes during the second season.
Smith said the "third time's a charm" and included a photo of the script (below) with a strategically placed pen to obscure the title. But the episode is #305, which implies that he'll direct the fifth episode of the upcoming season. It was penned by Eric Carrasco and Cindy Lichtman, longtime writers for the show.
Without the episode title, it's also difficult to tell anything about the plot, but both of Smith's episodes in season 2 were generally well-received by fans and critics.
Best known for Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Smith is also a high-profile comic book fan and hosts the AMC series Comic Book Men, which is set at his comic book store Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, in Red Bank, New Jersey. He also wrote and directed two episodes of The CW's The Flash.
Supergirl season 3 premieres Oct. 9 on The CW. Meanwhile, find out which other comic book TV series Smith would like to direct.
