Only Four Chicago P.D. Stars Have Been In Every Episode

Nine seasons in, and "Chicago P.D." continues to pull in the viewer's thanks to its tense and fast-paced storylines. The second series to premiere in the "One Chicago" universe, "P.D." hit the small screen in 2014 after several of its characters were first introduced on "Chicago Fire." As with its sister series, "Chicago P.D." has seen some longtime stars depart over the years, and newcomers jump in without skipping a beat.

Some of the show's original players were around for many seasons but left for their own reasons in the last several years. One of the "Chicago P.D." pillars, Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush), seemed like she'd be around for the long haul but sadly left the show in 2014. Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) left after six seasons on the series, while Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas) was killed off in Season 5.

Only a few OG's of "Chicago P.D." are still going strong on the series, as four actors have appeared in every single episode — for now.

Only four Chicago P.D. OGs have been in every episode

At the time of this publication, only Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger), and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) have appeared in every episode of "Chicago P.D." That small list might seem somewhat surprising to longtime viewers of the show, as it's missing two essential and fan-favorite characters. Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hopkins) and Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) have been with "Chicago P.D." since the pilot, but both have been absent from one episode. Atwater was missing from the Season 2 episode "Erin's Mom," while Trudy was absent from Season 1's "8:30" — which was a major "Chicago Fire" crossover event.

For now, there are no plans for Voight, Halstead, Burgess, or Ruzek to depart "Chicago P.D." so who will outlast who remains to be seen. All four characters have been so crucial to the show's running storyline that it's hard to imagine the Dick Wolf series without them. Burgess and Ruzeck are still stuck in the middle of their will they, won't they relationship, while Halstead is recently hitched to Hailey Halstead (Tracy Spiridakos). Voight, as always, runs his department with an iron fist (mostly) and still teeters that fine line between what is and isn't acceptable behavior within the police department.
