Who Plays A.G. Stewart On Yellowstone?

Over the course of its run so far, the Paramount series "Yellowstone" has garnered fans who are as attracted to the characters as they are to the storytelling. The series, which hails from creator Taylor Sheridan, follows the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family, owners of a ranch in the state of Montana that's one of the biggest in the country, and the show boasts a cast that includes Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, and Gil Birmingham.

One of the key elements of the show is the supporting characters who help shape the world of "Yellowstone" beyond the Dutton family and the Dutton ranch. One such character is A.G. Stewart, who is Montana's attorney general and often works with Jamie Dutton (Bentley). Stewart even encourages Jamie to run for attorney general. Many viewers have wondered about the performer behind the role and what else he's appeared in throughout his career. Here's who plays Stewart in "Yellowstone."

Timothy Carhart had memorable roles in Thelma & Louise and The Hunt for Red October

The name of the performer who plays A.G. Stewart is Timothy Carhart. Carhart started his acting career in 1978 with a role in "The Awakening Land," and he appeared in a number of notable films and TV shows in the '80s. In addition to small roles in "Ghostbusters," "Witness," and "Working Girl," Carhart also had guest roles in "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Miami Vice."

Carhart's first major movie role was in the 1990 film "The Hunt For Red October," in which he plays Commander Bill Steiner, who captains the rescue ship Mystic. He also has a lead role during this time in the TV show "Island Son," in which he plays Dr. Anthony Metzger, a medical resident in Hawaii. After that, Carhart continued his guest turns in TV shows such as "Roseanne" and "Quantum Leap," before another memorable role in the 1991 film "Thelma & Louise." In the film, Carhart plays Harlan, a stranger the titular duo meet at a bar. Harlan tries to rape Thelma (Geena Davis) before Louise (Susan Sarandon) intervenes, and when Harlan insults the women, Louise fatally shoots him.

The actor then went on to play more key supporting roles in films, appearing in "Beverly Hills Cop III" as the main antagonist Ellis DeWald, the head of security at a theme park and criminal leader who's pursued by Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) for killing his boss. Carhart also appeared in the 1995 film "Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh." In the 2000s to the present, Carhart has mainly appeared in guest roles in shows such as "Criminal Minds" and "Mad Men," with multi-episode arcs in both "24" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (via IMDb).
