Chadwick Boseman Avenges His Sister's Murder In Message From The King Trailer
Chadwick Boseman has just six days to avenge his sister's murder in the first trailer for Message From the King. The film stars Boseman as Jacob King, a man who travels to Los Angeles from South Africa after getting a distress message from his sister, only to soon find her dead. He then has limited time to go on a mission to find out who killed her and to get his revenge.
The trailer begins with Jacob getting the distress call from Bianca, causing him to rush to Los Angeles. HIs arrival causes trouble for the men responsible for Bianca's murder. "You told me Bianca was not a problem anymore," one of the men says. "Bianca isn't a problem anymore, that's his problem," the other responds.
Jacob soon finds his sister, realizing that she has been tortured. He quickly sets out to find her assailant, and he is willing to result to extreme measures in order to do so. "Whoever you work for, tell them this was a message from the king," Jacob says to a man who he just beat up. "He's not going to go away," says a voiceover. "He's not going to screw up. We have to deal with him."
Jacob seems single-minded in his goal to avenge his sister, despite questions from those around him about what his revenge plot can do for her now. "We have no idea what he's capable of," Luke Evans' Wentworth cautions, before the trailer begins to go through an action montage showing off what, exactly, Jacob is capable of.
Teresa Palmer, Alfred Molina, Natalie Martinez, Tom Felton, and Sibongile Mlambo also star in Message From the King, which is directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Colt 45) based on a script from Oliver Butcher (Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde) and Stephen Cornwell, an Emmy nominee for The Night Manager. The film will hit Netflix on August 4; in the meantime, see some of the other movies that will blow you away this summer.
