The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 7 Moment That Made No Sense To Fans
Contains spoilers for "The Book of Boba Fett" Episode 7
After seven episodes of the highly anticipated Disney+ series, "The Book of Boba Fett" came to an end in appropriate bounty hunter form: a hail of blaster fire. The season has been divisive among critics and fans, failing to earn the widespread acclaim of its progenitor series, "The Mandalorian." With that major caveat in mind, for the most part, the final episode ties up all the important loose ends for Boba.
By the end of Episode 6, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) has amassed the crew that he needs to fight the Pyke Syndicate. The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) officially joins Boba Fett's cause after struggling with his decision to leave Grogu in the hands of the Jedi. Boba Fett has also brought in a gang of teenage street toughs and Black Krrsantan to fight against the Pykes.
Say one thing for "The Book of Boba Fett" Episode 7 — it delivers in the action department, but there was one moment in particular that really didn't land with fans.
Boba Fett uses the rancor a little too well
The final battle commences with the team-up that the short series has been building up to. Din Djarin is resigned to stay and fight alongside Boba Fett in the battle, even if that means he won't survive the encounter with the Pykes (via The Wrap). Eventually, the two bounty hunters are joined by the citizens of Freetown and Black Krrsantan, but the Pykes have one more trick up their sleeve.
Scorpenek annihilator droids arrive to take out Boba Fett's remaining forces, and true to their name, these droids are resilient. Fett fears that the droids will destroy the town. It could have been a real moment of exposure to raise the stakes in the final episode, but as many fans on Reddit are pointing out, this moment is undercut when Boba Fett makes a triumphant return at the end.
"'Those droids will destroy the town!' Boba rides in on a rancor, which proceeds to destroy the town, lmao," commented u/simon2105.
In a final bid to win the day, Boba Fett arrives riding the rancor. Though this moment is impressive and built up from previous episodes, it does make Boba Fett's previous comment and fear for the safety of his town seem kind of ... empty. This is made even worse when Cad Bane shows up and scares the rancor off with a flamethrower, causing the beast to rampage off into the city. For the good of all, Grogu arrives just in the nick of time to save the city from further destruction, but Boba couldn't possibly have known how that would go down.
