Who Is The Actress In Rakuten's Super Bowl 2022 Commercial?

With the Super Bowl right around the corner, there's one thing Rams and Bengals fans can agree on — hilarious commercials are incoming. Every year, the biggest companies in the world pull out all of the stops to get their name out there. After all, no one wants to be the brand with the most forgettable ad of the game. And it appears one company already wants to get the word out concerning their pitch.

Rakuten has come out with a new commercial apparently hinting at big things to come. The ad centers on a woman decked out to the nines in a gorgeous black dress and opulent diamonds. She practices her best evil laugh in the mirror before succumbing to a little cough. It then ends with the tagline, "See who gets the last laugh."

It's clear this is merely the appetizer to the main course that will arrive on the big day. But for the time being, all most people can ask is, "Who's the actress in the Rakuten commercial?"

The Rakuten actress is Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham

The Rakuten actress should be immediately recognizable to anyone who knows the immense pleasure that is "Ted Lasso." It's Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ series. It's only appropriate Waddingham landed a Super Bowl ad after coming off an incredibly successful second season of the TV series, which saw the actress take home a slew of awards, including the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

"Ted Lasso" is far from the only property Waddingham has starred in over the years, as fans may also recognize her for playing Septa Unella in "Game of Thrones" or Jax-Ur in "Krypton." She'll next be seen in an as-of-yet undisclosed role in the forthcoming "Hocus Pocus 2," which is set to debut on Disney+ on October 31, 2022.

2021 was an exceptional year for the actress, and 2022 is shaping up to be just as good, if not better. To see precisely what Waddingham has in store for that evil laugh, you'll have to tune into the Super Bowl on February 13 (as if you need us to tell you to check out the most-watched sporting event of the year).
