Game Of Thrones Costume Designer Drops Big Jon Snow Spoilers

Contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7

Clothes can say a lot, but costume designers can say a lot more.

Michele Clapton, costume designer for Game of Thrones, recently spoke to Uproxx (via ScreenCrush) about wardrobe choices in season 7, and she may have inadvertently given away a bit too much.

While we already knew that the upcoming season would bring together a few characters who have never met, the trailers didn't reveal anything for sure. But it sounds like Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will take meetings with two of the show's most significant characters: Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). It all comes down to his cape.

"We had a lot of discussions about, 'Does the cape give him presence or is it better to not have that presence? What are we trying to say?,'" Clapton said. "There are times when we removed it because we wanted him to be more vulnerable. Especially, I think, when he saw Dany, and he went to see her for the first time in her chamber. We decided to remove it. But then, when he went to see Cersei, we put it on."

We've got to say, those choices make sense. If you've got a cape in your wardrobe, there's no better time to wear it than when meeting Cersei Lannister. However, Game of Thrones producers may not have wanted us to know that just yet.

It seemed pretty clear that Snow would meet Daenerys this season. We found out late last season that Snow is actually her nephew, although neither realize it. And with both of them gathering armies, there have been indications that they'll need to form an alliance. But we didn't know that Snow would make it all the way to King's Landing and cross paths with Cersei yet. Think of all the pensive staring.

We'll find out much more when season 7 premieres July 16. Until then, find out everything we know about the season so far.
