Leia, R2-D2, And Chewie Star In New Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny Short
There really was a lot more going on in the Star Wars galaxy than we realized.
In the latest installment of Disney's Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, we catch up with Princess Leia (voiced by Shelby Young) as she and R2-D2 go searching for Chewbacca, who's gone missing in the caves of Hoth. But when they find him, they realize Chewie is being held captive by a wampa.
Set during the Empire Strikes Back, it confirms that the series of animated shorts won't stick to any specific linear timeline. A previous chapter followed Leia on Endor during the events of Return of the Jedi.
If you're just hearing about Forces of Destiny, it's a series geared at a younger audience that centers on the female heroes of the Star Wars universe. We've already seen episodes dedicated to Rey (featuring the voice of Daisy Ridley) and Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. At some point, some of the characters will interact, and all of it is officially canon.
A collection of the shorts will air July 9 on the Disney Channel.
Meanwhile, find out more about the most impressive women in the Star Wars galaxy.
