The Voice-Acting Legend Behind Peacemaker's Eagly

"Peacemaker" is the newest project from director-writer-creator-producer-you-name-it James Gunn. The series stars John Cena as the titular antihero who we met in 2021's "The Suicide Squad." Picking up where the film left off, we see Peacemaker recover from his horrific injuries, but he's recovered now and out on a new mission.

Along with Peacemaker is a team comprised of some members we met at mission control in "The Suicide Squad." There are also some new faces like Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), Leota (Danielle Brooks), and Captain Locke (Christopher Heyerdahl). Perhaps the most exciting newcomer to the DCEU is Eagly — Peacemaker's sidekick and best friend. The patriotic co-star is easily one of the coolest characters we've ever seen in a superhero project, and his perfect squeaks and squawks are all thanks to an incredible voice actor. You wouldn't know it, but the man behind the voice of Eagly is one of the biggest legends ever in the voice acting world who previously sat with Looper for an exclusive interview.

Dee Bradley Baker is the voice behind Eagly

The squawking voice behind Eagly is none other than Dee Bradley Baker. It's entirely possible you've never heard his name before, but the chances of you having heard his voice in the past are very high. Baker is one of the most famous voice actors of all time, with a career that's spanned over three decades. He's lent his voice to dozens upon dozens of animated series, some live-action shows, and a handful of video games.

Some of the famous characters he's voiced include Klaus from "American Dad!," Bubble Bass (among many other characters) from "SpongeBob SquarePants," and Perry the Platypus from "Phineas and Ferb." Baker is also well known for supplying animal and monster noises to a plethora of series and movies like "Dora the Explorer," the "Beethoven" movies, and several "Mickey Mouse" properties from Disney.

In the live-action world, Baker provided the voice for Olmec, the large rock face on the 90s Nickelodeon hit, "Legends of the Hidden Temple." He returned to voice Olmec for the made-for-tv movie in 2016 and the 2021 revival. This also isn't the first time Baker has worked with James Gunn. The voice acting legend is credited on "The Suicide Squad" for voicing Sebastian, the rat.

"Peacemaker" is now streaming on HBO Max.
