Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead finally tied the knot in "A Way Out," which was Episode 9 of Season 9, following their engagement. This is when the rest of the team finds out, as characterized by Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) spotting the wedding band on Upton's hand as she's putting on gloves at a crime scene. He then looks to Halstead's hand and notices a ring there, too, causing him to say "You guys got married," which Halstead confirms with a "Yeah, we did."
Fans were giddy about the development on Twitter, with user @5021_chuckles writing, "The shirt, the rings, him on her desk, I can't do this guys," highlighting a scene from the episode where the two are talking about a suspect. Twitter user @upstcad pointed out how the two were displaying their wedding rings without concern, saying "being casually married is so them."
