Jessica Williams Dances Through Life In The Incredible Jessica James Teaser
Former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams shines in the first teaser for her upcoming romantic comedy The Incredible Jessica James, which Netflix picked up in a tight competition after the film debuted to rave reviews at Sundance. The movie stars Williams as a struggling playwright looking for love in New York City. Following a bad break-up, she ends up on a blind date with a divorced app designer, with whom she forms a strong and surprising connection.
The teaser doesn't focus heavily on those plot details, instead spending its time on Jessica James as a character, a woman who likes to dance through the hallways of her apartment building, no matter who is watching, and who is not afraid to call out awkward guys on bad Tinder dates or people who manspread on the subway. "I'm pretty, I'm smart, I am Coco queen," Jessica says.
The Incredible Jessica James is already off to a stellar start with reviewers, amassing a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes following its Sundance debut. The movie also stars Chris O'Dowd, Lakeith Stanfield, and Noel Wells; it was written and directed by New York, I Love You's Jim Strouse. The Incredible Jessica James is set to hit Netflix on July 28. While we wait, see some of the streamer's planned upcoming originals that you didn't know were being made.
