Seth Green Set To Make Feature Film Directorial Debut With Changeland
Seth Green is stepping behind the camera. Variety reports that the former Austin Powers actor will write, direct, and star in his feature film directorial debut Changeland.
The movie, which begins filming this week in Thailand, centers on Green's always hesitant character who ends up going through a personal crisis after meeting up with his self-assured best friend (Breckin Meyer) in Thailand. Green's wife Clare Grant will also appear, along with Brenda Song, Macaulay Culkin, Rose Williams, Kedar Williams-Sterling, and Randy Orton.
"It feels like a dream to be filming in Thailand with an incredible crew and some of my closest friends," Green said in a statement. "We are one of the first films to take advantage of Thailand's new incentive measures from the Thailand Film Office and the Department of Tourism. I am very excited to share this story."
Green is best known for his appearances on screen, starring in TV shows like Family Guy, Dads, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and appearing in films like The Italian Job, Can't Hardly Wait, and Without a Paddle. (He also has lent his voice to the MCU for Howard the Duck's Guardians of the Galaxy cameos.) However, he is also an experienced writer, frequently penning episodes and specials of Robot Chicken, the show he created and also stars in.
Green has also taken on directorial duties for some of the animated series' episodes, and has garnered two Emmy wins for outstanding short-form animated program, along with a handful of other nominations, for his work. In addition to Changeland, the actor has a few other projects set for the next few years, including the National Lampoon biopic A Futile and Stupid Gesture and the Michael Caine and Katie Holmes comedy Coup d'Etat.
While we wait to see Green's feature film directorial debut, read up on why we never got to see him in a fourth Austin Powers movie.
