Who Plays Devon In Cobra Kai Season 4?

Contains spoilers for "Cobra Kai" Season 4

Every season of "Cobra Kai" introduces Netflix audiences to new karate champions. Whether it be for Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do, or Eagle Fang, there always seem to be at least a handful of downtrodden youngsters living in the San Fernando Valley who need to learn how to protect themselves. In the first season, the recruiting skills of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) manage to build Cobra Kai into a social media brand of sorts, and while Johnny remains a Luddite of the highest order, Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) does his best to help his sensei transition into a digital world.

Despite his new social media skills, Season 4 introduces a new set of problems for Johnny that social media is unable to fix. In order to stand a chance of winning the All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny will need to locate more female students. After failing to persuade any members of the track team and narrowly losing Moon's ex-girlfriend, Piper (Selah Austria), to Cobra Kai, all hope appears to be lost for Eagle Fang Karate. That is until Johnny spots a young debate student who quickly gets his attention.

While contemplating a possible ploy that could have involved Miguel dressing up as a girl (probably not a winning idea), Johnny spots Devon Lee absolutely wrecking her opponent on the debate stage at school. Johnny quickly says, "I just found the most badass girl in the valley," despite the fact that Bert (Owen Morgan) actually suggested her in the first place. Devon quickly joins the Eagle Fang dojo and proves to be a valuable new member, though she initially confuses Johnny when she announces her preferred pronouns during her first karate lesson.

So, who is the young actress playing the part of Devon?

Oona O'Brien plays Devon

The actress who plays Devon is named Oona O'Brien. O'Brien's casting as Devon in "Cobra Kai" was first announced in February of 2021, along with the addition of Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny (via Variety). According to O'Brien's IMDb page, her appearance in Season 4 of "Cobra Kai" will mark only her second credited role ever. The young actress first appeared in a 2020 short film titled "Sky High" (not to be confused with the 2005 superhero film of the same name). Based on her performance in the 4th season of "Cobra Kai," we think it's pretty likely that we'll see great things from Devon in the 5th season of the series.

Devon quickly becomes one of Johnny's favorite students by sprinkling in mentions of the "Bloodsport" franchise, "Delta Force," "Billy Jack," "The Octagon," and "Lady Dragon." Sher later proves her worth shortly after the first round of the tournament. When she begins calculating how many points it will take for Eagle Fang to catch up to Cobra Kai, Johnny shrewdly proclaims, "I don't give a sh*t about math. What do we need to beat Cobra Kai?" Shocked, Devon responds, "Math." She then explains exactly how many points the group needs, but makes sure to end her explanation with language that Johnny will appreciate. "The further we get as a team, the tighter the vices around Cobra Kai's metaphorical balls." This earns her Johnny's quick approval.

Though Devon puts up a good fight against Cobra Kai's Tory Nichols (Peyton List), she is quickly defeated. When Johnny tells her she shouldn't feel bad, Devon says, "I don't feel bad. I only trained for six weeks. I'm going to be stomping all these weak-ass bi***es next year."
