Goodbye Christopher Robin Trailer Reveals Creation Of Winnie The Pooh
Even Winnie the Pooh has an origin story rooted in war.
Fox Searchlight released a trailer for Goodbye Christopher Robin, chronicling the true story of author A.A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will Tilston) as they created the world of Winnie the Pooh. Set in the aftermath of World War I (in which Milne fought for England), the movie explains how the author helped lessen post-war sadness with what would become one of the most beloved children's books.
Margot Robbie co-stars as Milne's wife, and Kelly MacDonald (who narrates the trailer) plays Christopher Robin's nanny.
The film looks to be reminiscent of Finding Neverland, the 2004 movie that told the story of J.M. Barrie and his creation of Peter Pan. And, gauging from the trailer for Finding Christopher Robin, it looks like it will be every bit the tear-jerker.
It's slated for release in the U.S. on Nov. 10. Take a look at the poster below, then check out a few kids shows that would make amazing movies.
