Daniel Radcliffe Is Lost In The Wilderness In Jungle Trailer
Daniel Radcliffe needs to find his way home in the new trailer for his upcoming thriller Jungle. Based on real life events, the film stars Radcliffe as Yossi Ghinsberg, an Israeli backpacker who gets lost in the Bolivian wilderness on a trip gone wrong.
"I live to escape the well-worn path," Yossi says at the start of the trailer. "University, work, marriage, kids. I wanted to experience the extraordinary." This desire takes him to Bolivia, where he told his parents he would only stay for a year. However, he quickly makes it clear that he has no plans of ever going back to regular life.
His quest for adventure eventually leads him to sign on for a trip through the jungle with a Swiss teacher and an American photographer, who are led into the wilderness by an explorer who they have only just met. Things quickly go wrong for the trio when the explorer leaves them in the "last frontier on earth," telling them that the jungle will show them what the really are.
Left alone with no idea where they are or how to get back home, the trio has to try to survive, eventually getting split up and leaving Yossi by himself to deal with the jungle's other occupants, both human and animal. "When fear sets in, keep hope alive," the trailer says.
The Belko Experiment's Greg McLean directs the film, which also stars Alex Russell, Joel Jackson, and Thomas Kretschmann. The movie will have its world premiere at Australia's Melbourne International Film Festival on Aug. 3; no announcements about a wider distribution have been made yet.
