Battle Of The Network Stars Teams Revealed
Who wouldn't like to see Joey Lawrence go up against Dave Coulier in an obstacle course? (Okay, maybe don't answer that.)
ABC will premiere a reboot of Battle of the Network Stars, and the network revealed all 20 teams that will compete in the upcoming season (via Variety). While the list of 100 celebrities does include plenty of working actors from shows like Scandal and Empire, it reads a lot more like a "where are they now?" of retro stars.
It'll also feature John Barrowman, otherwise known as Malcolm Merlyn on Arrow, who we know won't return to the Arrow-verse anytime soon.
The 10-episode season will pit teams from multiple eras of television against each other in a wide range of athletic games like archery, tug of war, a kayak relay, a dunk tank, and an obstacle course. Mike Greenberg and Joe Tessitore of ESPN will host the show along with sideline reporters Cassidy Hubbarth and Cari Champion. Former NFL player DeMarcus Ware and UFC champ Ronda Rousey will be the team captains.
