Vanessa Ray's Favorite Episode Of Blue Bloods

The Reagan family on "Blue Bloods" have been through a lot over the years. They've gone face-to-face with murderers and put their own lives on the line for the safety of the general public. Each episode is riveting in its own right, but a few stand out in the minds of both viewers and the principal cast.

For a special presentation on the CBS website, each leading actor talks about which episode they like best. It's a tall order to fill, especially seeing how the show is presently on Season 12. That's over 200 episodes to bear in mind, but the stars don't seem to have a problem coming up with their favorites at a moment's notice. For instance, Sami Gayle, who plays Nicky Reagan-Boyle, said her favorite was a Season 2 episode where she had a chance to dance and sing alongside a Broadway legend.

The episode held special significance for Gayle, and that's precisely what you see in Vanessa Ray's favorite "Blue Bloods" outing, too. The Eddie Janko-Reagan actress also spoke to the cameras about why her favorite episode happens to be Season 10, Episode 10, "Bones to Pick."

Vanessa Ray had a blast dressing up as Santa

On the surface, "Bones to Pick" may seem like an odd choice to have as a favorite. After all, the main storyline involves a woman's body being discovered at a men's-only club. All the while, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) has to deal with an illicit affair between two members of law enforcement, but in the interim of all that, Eddie has a fairly festive time.

A bit of spontaneity played a role in making the episode stand out in Ray's mind. As she recalls in the interview, "It was my favorite because I got a text message from our costumer. And he said, 'We need you to come in early because we have to get you fitted for a Santa costume last-minute.'" The scene where she's walking with her partner, both dressed in the spirit of the holiday season, is a nice reprieve from the darkness that permeates the rest of the episode. No doubt it was a ton of fun getting into costume and walking around the streets of New York as such.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise that many people's answers in the video have to deal with the most fun scene they got to be a part of while filming "Blue Bloods." There's ample drama, to be sure, but sometimes, it's just nice to kick back and relax with something a bit more easygoing.
