What Is The Song In The New Oculus Beat As One Commercial?

Society still has a way to go until we have video games truly akin to what you find in "Ready Player One." However, for the time being, Oculus has led the charge to show people the future of gaming is now with the VR Oculus Quest 2 headset. This provides a fully immersive experience where you aren't just sitting on a couch pressing buttons. You're on your feet interacting with things that seem real, and by and away, the most popular game on this medium so far is "Beat Saber."

This game is part "Tron" and part "Star Wars" as you have cubes flying directly toward you. It's your job to use your lightsabers to hit the cubes in accordance with the rhythm of whatever song is playing. You have plenty of options to choose from, and new songs get added all of the time. In fact, Oculus just came out with a new commercial to let people know about the latest artist to make it to the platform — Billie Eilish. And appropriately enough, the ad's set to her latest hit song, "Happier Than Ever."

"Happier Than Ever" comes from Billie Eilish's sophomore album

In 2019, Billie Eilish rose through the ranks of pop stardom to become one of the most famous and popular singers of our era. Thanks to songs like "Bad Guy" and "You Should See Me in a Crown," Eilish's debut album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" became one of the best-reviewed records of its year. NME gave it a perfect five stars, saying, "It's a brave and resounding first step for an artist with bags of potential and over the next decade, you'll no doubt see popular music scrabbling to try and replicate what this album does on every level."

Suffice to say, expectations were high with her sophomore effort, which came out on July 30, 2021, titled "Happier Than Ever." It was everything her fans wanted out of a second album; it demonstrated growth while also containing all of the characteristics that made her an icon in the first place. Once again, NME gave it a perfect review score: "'Happier Than Ever' fully establishes Billie Eilish as one of her generation's most significant pop artists — and, better still, does so without repeating a single trick from the debut that turned her life upside down."

Many tracks on the sophomore album have charted, including "My Future," "Therefore I Am," and the self-titled track featured in the latest Oculus ad. The song "Happier Than Ever" builds to a stunning crescendo, making it easy to see why it's taken off with audiences across social media. It peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and given the immense success the singer's had over the last few years, it certainly won't be the last song of hers to climb the charts.
