Deadpool Creator Draws Josh Brolin As Cable
It will probably be a long time before we see Josh Brolin in costume as Cable, but, thanks to Deadpool and Cable creator Rob Liefeld, we now have an idea of how he may look.
Liefeld released a sketch of Brolin as the famous mutant on his Instagram, showing the legendary actor in the characters's signature costume. Although we don't know what Brolin will actually end up looking like in the film, the picture (below) at least offers a hint at what we might see in the sequel.
Who would be cast as Cable has been discussed and debated since the post credits scene from the first film teased the character's introduction. While names like Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, and David Harbour were all thrown around for the part, Brolin, who already has a role in the MCU as Avengers: Infinity War big bad Thanos, ended up being the man for the job.
Liefeld has praised Brolin's casting, saying that he "brings both the gravitas as well as the physicality required" to bring Cable to the big screen.
"[Brolin] is an amazing actor, and I'm as excited as anyone to see him paired with Ryan Reynolds [and] Zazie Beetz in Deadpool 2," he said. "Cable, Domino, and Deadpool, people. It's happening!"
Reynolds also welcomed Brolin to the part in character as Deadpool, writing, "The f***, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch."
Deadpool 2 is likely to begin filming this summer ahead of a planned 2018 release. In the meantime, find out why the movie will blow everyone away and some of the big pitfalls it has to avoid.
