New Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer Coming Wednesday

Expect a lot of blood in the newest trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight, which will be released on Wednesday (April 12). The teaser for the trailer highlights the film's violent imagery, and hints at the mythology it will unveil with Sir Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins) saying, "A thousand years we've kept it hidden. The secret history of Transformers." The teaser was shared on the Transformers Twitter account with the caption, "Prepare to rethink your history."

The film will follow a war between the humans and the Transformers, and somehow bring King Arthur and Merlin into the mix–something which the new teaser hints at with scenes of medieval battles. The movie will also bring back past franchise stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, and Stanley Tucci. Also featured are Isabel Moner, Benjamin Flores Jr., Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera, Jerrod Carmichael, and Mitch Pileggi. Michael Bay will direct based on a script from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan. Akiva Godsman also contributed to the story for the film.

The new trailer will hopefully reveal more plot details than the teaser, which reveals that the Transformers have been on our planet since the age of King Arthur, but it doesn't really say much else. You can also see more of the film's humor in the kid-friendly trailer that Paramount aired before Beauty and the Beast.

The Last Knight is set to be released on June 23, and it's just one of many upcoming Transformers movies, with Paramount saying that it has more than a dozen films planned. While we wait for more Last Knight footage, check out the other movies we're looking forward to this summer.
