The Major Batman Reunion You Missed In Masters Of The Universe: Revelation

"Masters of the Universe: Revelation" landed on Netflix in July, reuniting He-Man and his nemesis Skeletor in one last battle for Eternia while revealing the secrets of Grayskull. Meant to be a sequel to the original 1980s "He-Man" cartoon, the series met with mixed reactions from fans, especially when the fifth and last episode of the first season ended with a supposed death. While some viewers were happy to have a new incarnation of He-Man characters on their screens, others were irritated by unexpected twists and divergences from the original series. A second season is expected to premiere on Netflix this month, according to The Cinemaholic.

One aspect of the show that excited many fans was a fun reunion between voice actors from another popular franchise. In the animated series' third episode, titled "The Most Dangerous Man in Eternia," Skeletor teams up with Mer-Man over their shared hatred of He-Man. Why is this exciting for Batman fans?

Two beloved Batman universe actors team up once again

Viewers might not have realized that Netflix's "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" played host to a reunion between two actors known for their work in the Batman universe. In "The Most Dangerous Man in Eternia," Skeletor (voiced by Mark Hamill) shares the screen with Mer-Man (voiced by Kevin Conroy) when the two villains attempt to use Mer-Man's aquatic forces to kill He-Man and Teela.

Hamill is well-known for voicing The Joker in numerous "Batman" animated projects, including "Justice League Action" and "Batman: The Killing Joke." Meanwhile, Conroy has played both live-action and animated versions of Bruce Wayne and Batman in "Justice League Action," "Batman: The Killing Joke," and in an episode of "Batwoman" on The CW (per IMDb).

The actors share a short scene together in the "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" episode, but the reunion didn't go unnoticed on social media. After the Netflix show premiered on July 23, one Twitter user wrote, "Always good to hear Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy together."

The two actors seem to love working together

Netflix's "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" boasts a long list of famous actors voicing beloved characters in the show. In addition to Hamill as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar portrays Teela, Lena Headey plays Evil-Lyn, and Chris Wood voices He-Man.

In a 2018 interview with Red Carpet News (posted on YouTube), Conroy praised Hamill for his iconic turn as The Joker in the Batman animated universe. "The Joker defines Batman, and Batman defines Joker," Conroy said. "They're just so intertwined. I was so lucky that Mark is the actor they found to play the character." Conroy admitted he only knew Hamill previously for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars" and was blown away by how good he was at playing a villain. "I started working with him and thought, 'You're not a nice young man at all. You're a crazy, crazy character actor,'" he recalled.

While Conroy only appears in two episodes of "Master of the Universe: Revelation," Hamill stars in five out of the show's eight episodes.
