Watch The First Rocket And Groot Animated Short For Disney XD

The Guardians of the Galaxy may be a family, but two members of the team seem poised for a little something on the side.

Although we're still a few months away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it's a near-certainty that Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) will steal the show. They were undoubtedly a huge reason why the first teaser had the biggest debut in Marvel Studios' movie history with 81 million views in its first 24 hours (via The Hollywood Reporter).

And while Vin Diesel swears that we'll eventually see a Rocket and Groot spinoff movie, that would definitely be down the line. But that doesn't mean we won't see them on smaller screens in the meantime.

Marvel and Disney XD released the first of 12 animated Rocket & Groot shorts, from Oscar-nominated Passion Pictures and director Arnaud Delord.

Of course, in this version, Groot is his full-grown self and the voices don't come from Cooper and Diesel. Billy West and Kevin Michael Richardson from Disney XD's Guardians of the Galaxy series play Rocket and Groot, respectively. If West's voice sounds familiar, it should. He's the actor behind The Ren & Stimpy Show, and a big contributor to Futurama.

If you can't be bothered to watch all the shorts as they're released, it's weird that you're reading this story. But Disney XD will also air a compilation of all 12 on April 10.
