Loki Fans Are Mad They Still Haven't Gotten The Moment They're Waiting For
Contains spoilers for "Loki" Episode 6
The return of a character like Loki (Tom Hiddleston) carries with it a lot of fan expectation. Loki died a hero, after all, hoping but failing pull a fast one on Thanos (Josh Brolin) in an effort save his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth), refugee Asgardians, and the entire universe in "Avengers: Infinity War." So to have a variant-timeline Loki from the point where he was still a villain get his own show was a little nerve-wracking in a way. Would we get a true redemption story? Would it be worth it to bring Loki back after his heroic demise?
Over the course of six episodes, "Loki" provided in spades. If you were looking for a complex emotional tale, you got your wish. If you were looking for a gaggle of Loki variants, you also got your wish. A textual confirmation that Loki is queer? Your wish is canonically confirmed. Heck, even the fans out there hoping for some sort of Alligator Loki got what they wanted. This show pulled out all the stops.
And yet, there's one thing fans wanted from "Loki" that they didn't get. There's a moment fans felt they were promised that "Loki" simply doesn't make good on — and it's probably not what you think it is.
Give Mobius a jet ski, Marvel
The question fans have now that "Loki" Season 1 is completed is simple: "Where the #$%! is Mobius' jet ski?" That's right: Marvelites are half outraged, half heartbroken that the jet ski Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) says he pines for has yet to appear in the series.
In "Loki" Episode 6, once it's revealed that everyone from the TVA are secretly variants, it seems that at least the original Mobius might be seen riding high on life atop a jet ski of some kind. The original Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha Raw) is seen working as a teacher, but there's be-jet-ski-ed Mobius to be found– and fans aren't pleased about it.
Twitter user @LazerReptile tweeted how Marvel not only "crushes our souls" by denying Mobius his jet ski, but also adds insult to injury by suddenly making it so Mobius doesn't even know who Loki is anymore. Mere hours after the finale aired, @Hlywood_Freak posted a photo of Mobius on a jet ski, adding, "Hope we'll get to see Mobius riding jetski in season 2. Marvel please make this happen." Even searching the word "jet ski" on Twitter right now will bring up nothing but people pining for Mobius on the watercraft.
Since the biggest surprise of the "Loki" finale may have been the fact that the show is already set for a Season 2, Mobius (and, by extension, Marvel fans) could see his jet ski dream become a reality in a future episode. Alligator Loki was great and fans are grateful for his Loki supremacy, but the only way for Disney+ to truly make things right is to get Owen Wilson on a jet ski when "Loki" returns for a second season. It must be done. For all time. Always.
