Vinland Saga Fans Just Got Some Amazing News About Season 2

The popular anime series "Vinland Saga," based on the manga of the same name by Makoto Yukimura, released a first season consisting of 24 episodes in mid-to-late 2019, available to stream on Amazon. Similar to the popular drama "Vikings," "Vinland Saga" is based on the history of Vikings in the 11th century as the group invades England and beyond, led by the Danish prince known as Cnut the Great, who would go on to be King of England, Denmark, and Norway. Along with Cnut, known as Canute in the series, "Vinland Saga" focuses on a young man named Thorfinn who seeks revenge on the men who murdered his father. The title of the show refers to an area on the coast of North America that the Vikings explored in the 11th century, and while the anime starts in England and throughout Europe, "Vinland Saga" is expected to finally make its was to Vinland in Season 2.

In Season 1 of "Vinland Saga," Canute is captured by Askeladd, the leader of a group of mercenaries intending to promote the prince to the position of king. Thorfinn is in the employ of Askeladd, as these mercenaries are the ones who killed his father, and he has a long plan for revenge. Of course, it's all ruined when Canute takes over, sparing Thorfinn's life but sentencing him to be a slave. After a year of so, Canute transforms into a king with a drive to expand and conquer, and he soon encounters Thorfinn again, respecting the young man's strong morals and freeing him to search for Vinland.

The future of the epic anime saga was up in the air for about two years, with fans having no idea whether or not a second season would be coming. Thankfully, the patience paid off, and "Vinland Saga" fans have the best news ever about Season 2.

Season 2 of Vinland Saga is officially in production
