See The First Teaser For Netflix's Female Wrestling Comedy GLOW

Alison Brie is ready to fight in Netflix's new series GLOW.

Based on the 1980s professional wrestling variety show Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, GLOW follows Brie's Ruth, an out-of-work actress who turns to women's wrestling for one last chance at stardom.

"In addition to working with 12 Hollywood misfits, Ruth also has to compete with Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) a former soap actress who left the business to have a baby, only to be sucked back into work when her picture perfect life is not what it seems," reads the show's synopsis. "And at the wheel is Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a washed-up, coked-up B-movie director who now must lead 14 women on the journey to wrestling stardom."

GLOW is executive produced by Orange is the New Black's Jenji Kohan and Tara Hermann. Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Nurse Jackie) created the show and will serve as showrunners.

The first teaser doesn't reveal much in the way of the show's plot, featuring separate women getting ready to fight (and highlighting the show's 80's hair and fashion in the process). It does reveal one very important thing about the show, though: all ten episodes will premiere on the streaming service on June 23.
