Apple Music Releases 'Carpool Karaoke' Series Trailer

Back in January, Apple announced that it would be expanding original scripted programing for Apple Music, most notably in the form of Carpool Karaoke, the standalone series spinoff based on The Late Late Show host James Corden's smash-hit segment. Apple Music just dropped the official trailer for the upcoming series.

Though the premise of the upcoming series remains essentially the same as its source material's, there are a few differences. Where James Corden would chauffeur around Los Angeles various actors, singers, and musicians, the Apple Music-helmed series will buddy up two celebrities to belt out some tunes.

Featured in the trailer are a bevy of multi-talented celebrity pairings. In the short clip, fans can see Ariana Grande and Seth MacFarlane singing "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors as well as comedian Billy Eichner (attempting to) sing "Diamonds" by Rihanna with the heavy metal band Metallica. From singer-songwriters John Legend and Alicia Keys to powerhouse athletes Shaquille O'Neal and John Cena, Carpool Karaoke's first season will include 16 match-ups sure to bring the same kind of laughs Corden and his musical guests did in the original Late Late Show bit.

Despite on longer being the main host, Corden will, however, appear in an episode with Will Smith. The sneak peek shows the men singing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's theme tune and R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly." In the latter glimpse, in which Corden and Smith are hitting the high notes from inside a helicopter, it seems the karaoke antics will frequently move outside the carpool lane. Additional locations for impromptu singing sessions, like the laundromat and the grocery store, are teased in the trailer.

Though no exact release date has been announced, by the looks of the trailer, it seems Carpool Karaoke just might be a show that will impress everyone in 2017.
