Get Organized With The Home Edit Season 2 - What We Know So Far

Following Marie Kondo's viral success, Instagram-famous home organizers and bestselling authors Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin launched their own Netflix TV show based on their lucrative business: Get Organized with The Home Edit. Described by Glamour as "Marie Kondo Meets Queer Eye," fans were instantly drawn to Shearer and Teplin's bubbly personalities, with inside looks into celebrities' organizational woes as a fun twist. The Home Edit's team tackles organization by emphasizing aesthetics and color coordination. One look at their Instagram feed, and you'll see why the duo has gained such a large following.

Get Organized with The Home Edit hit the top of Netflix's trending page and stayed there for months, providing everyone stuck in their homes due to COVID-19 with a new obsession. For those who have been anticipating good news on the future of Get Organized with The Home Edit, wait no longer. Netflix officially announced that season 2 is in the works, and here's everything we know so far about season 2's release date, host, and homeowners.

When is the season 2 release date?

Netflix announced Get Organized with The Home Edit's renewal on March 18, though they didn't yet have a predicted release date. Once the cast is chosen (more on that in a bit) and filming wraps, we're expecting it to hit Netflix relatively quickly — some are predicting a premiere date as early as fall 2021. Regardless, we'll be on the lookout for an official announcement from the studio.

In the meantime, fans can catch up with Clea and Joanna by rewatching the first season of Get Organized with The Home Edit, or reading one of the team's bestselling books: The Home Edit: A Guide to Organizing and Realizing Your House Goals and The Home Edit Life: The No-Guilt Guide to Owning What You Want and Organizing Everything. You can also take a crack at organizing your own space by using their recently released workbook, The Home Edit Workbook: Prompts, Activities, and Gold Stars to Help You Contain the Chaos.

Who will host season 2?

Clea and Joanna will be back in the spotlight to reprise their entertaining roles as co-hosts. Their close friendship makes for tons of witty banter that fans can't get enough of. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Clea dished about how they met and decided to work together. "We met because our friend set us up on a blind friend date," she explained. "We decided to go to lunch together after I kind of forced Joanna into it. Joanna's motto in life is 'no new friends.' We ended up going to lunch together, and it was just instant. We got up from that lunch as business partners without even asking each other. We had just jumped in right away, and we didn't have the normal lunch/brunch chitchat. It was more like, 'What are your top five skills? What are your complementary skill sets?' We just dove right in."

Good thing Joanna wasn't set on her "no new friends" motto. Six short years later, and The Home Edit has millions of followers on Instagram, a successful TV show, and more exciting projects on the horizon.

Who are the homeowners of season 2?

The homeowners are also yet to be announced, though The Home Edit recently released a call for applications and nominations. For those interested, all you need to do is answer a few quick questions. Do you know someone whose life would be changed by organizing a room in their home? Recently experienced a significant life event that would benefit greatly from a room refresh? Is always short on time and/or energy despite eagerly wanting to be organized and to keep it that way? Anyone interested has until April 12, 2021, to fill out the application form for a chance to have an organizational overhaul!

We also don't yet know what celebrities will be featured on the show. Season 1 tackled the messes of stars like Reese Witherspoon, Khloe Kardashian, and Eva Longoria, so if season 2 is anything like its predecessor, we're sure to be in for a treat.
