Will There Be A Superman Spinoff On The CW?

Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) finally arrived on Supergirl early in Season 2, and he definitely stole the show. But it sounds like the Man of Steel won't get his own CW series anytime soon.

Network head Mark Pedowitz opened up about the possibility of Hoechlin returning to Supergirl or getting his own spinoff during a TCA press tour panel over the weekend (via Entertainment Weekly).

"Tyler did a great job," Pedowitz said. "There's no plan to do a series. There are no plans at the moment for him to return [to Supergirl]. If they wish to have him return, we'd love to have him."

Supergirl producer Andrew Kreisberg previously said (via Heroic Hollywood) that a Superman series could be considered, but that that it wasn't a focus. Now it seems increasingly unlikely.

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that the CW confirmed that Supergirl will return for Season 3. While we wait for more, check out Supergirl's insane history.
